Cecile O. Hurley, 87, of Ludlow passed away peacefully at home on Saturday March 16, 2024. Sadly, she was predeceased by her husband, Andrew Hurley in 1996. They cherished raising their eight children in the Ludlow community, in their home which Cecile has lived in for 63 years. She was a communicant of Saint Elizabeth Parish.
Daughter of the late, George and Olive (LaPointe) Perron. She was born in Berlin, New Hampshire, on May 18, 1936. Cecile graduated from Cathedral High School, and worked for many years as a cashier at the Ludlow Big Y where she made many great friends. After retiring from Big Y, she worked for LPVEC as a bus monitor until she was 80 years old.
She loved spending time with her family. Her favorite past time was knitting. Since the early 2000’s, she knitted over 15,000 preemie baby blankets for Baystate NICU with her signature heart pattern. She also knit full size and baby afghans, with the same heart pattern, for many other special people in her life.
