Nancy, I am so sorry for the death of your mamma. Reading her stuck out in my mind that she turned 70 the day you delivered my son. She must have been a loving woman to have raised such a compassionate lady as you. Your entire family will be in my prayers.

So sorry to learn of the passing of one of LHS's most memorable teachers. I studied Latin with Mrs.Burgess from 1963-1965. Her love of language was ever obvious. Once in college, I realized what she had given me in knowledge of the English language. She was a firm but understanding teacher. When I saw her, decades later,at church I thanked her for being such a role model and a wonderful educator. Her modest reply just revealed what a true lady she was. I will miss her.
