Anthony T. Krzystofik

Anthony T. Krzystofik, 93, formerly of Hadley, passed away on Monday, February 13, 2023. Son of the late Stanley and Katherine (Litwin) Krzystofik, he was born in Chicopee on June 7, 1929. A graduate of Chicopee High School, Tony proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army during World War II. He went on to earn his B.A. from AIC and his Master’s degree from UConn. Tony worked as a CPA for Hitchcock Company prior to joining the faculty at UMass-Amherst where he chaired the Accounting Dept. After his retirement from UMass he went on to teach Accounting in Poland, Greece and France. Tony was proud of his Polish heritage and instrumental in starting the Polish Center for Discovery and Learning in Chicopee and the Polish Genealogy Society. He and his wife Peg enjoyed traveling and gardening, but his greatest pride and joy was his family.

Tony is survived by his son James Krzystofik, his daughter-in-law Kathleen Krzystofik, his grandchildren John Krzystofik (Sarah), Anne Ivanoski (Chris) and Joseph Krzystofik (Preeti), as well as his 5 beloved great-grandchildren and his sister-in-law Kay Coburn. Sadly, he was predeceased by his wife of 70 years Margaret Krzystofik in 2022, his son Michael Krzystofik in 2010 and his siblings John, Mary, Stella and Frances.

Visiting hours for Tony will be Saturday, February 18, 2023 from 9:00-10:00 AM the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home, 64 Sewall St., Ludlow, MA followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in St. Michael’s Cathedral, State St., Springfield, MA. Rites of Committal with Military Honors will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Donations in Tony’s memory may be made to the Polish Center for Discovery and Learning, 33 South St., Chicopee, MA 01020.
