Anna Tietze, 96, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 2, 2019. She was born Anna Christoph on February 20, 1923 in Steinschonau, Czech Republic. Anna immigrated with her family to Springfield, MA in 1954. She was a nurse’s aid at Mercy Hospital and later a mechanic at the former Alamac Knitting Mills in Indian Orchard.
Anna was a communicant of Christ the King Church and a founding member of the Scantic Valley YMCA. She loved hosting parties and was a fantastic baker and cook. She loved dancing at the Liederkranz German Club in Newington, CT.
Anna is leaves her sons Erwin Tietze of Holyoke; Roland Tieze and his wife Pamela of Feeding Hills and her daughter Doris Zalucki of Ludlow. She also leaves her grandchildren Lori, Justin, Adam, Christopher, Michael, Jerry, Barbara and Anna, as well as 10 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her mother and father Anna and Herman Christoph, her husband of 74 years Hugo Tietze, her sister Ilse Rancin and her son-in-law Anthony Zalucki.
Visiting hours for Anna will be Friday, June 7, 2019 from 9:00-10:30 AM at the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home, 64 Sewall St, Ludlow, MA followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in Christ the King Church. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Park Cemetery, Parker St., Springfield, MA. Donations in Anna’s memory may be made to the Scantic Valley YMCA, 45 Post Office Park, Wilbraham, MA 01095 or Christ the King Church, 41 Warsaw Ave., Ludlow, MA 01056.
