Obituary

Amelia (Millie) Dias, 96, of Ludlow passed away peacefully on Monday, August 6, 2018. Born in Ludlow on December 1, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Maria (Amadeu) Dias. A graduate of Ludlow High School she worked for many years as an inspector at the former American Bosch. Amelia was World War II volunteer nurse’s aid at Ludlow Hospital, an American Red Cross volunteer, a member of the Portuguese American Citizens Club, Lusitano Alumni, Post 430 Ladies Auxiliary, the Ludlow Senior Center and a lifelong Springfield Falcons fan.

Amelia is survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Sadly she was predeceased by her brothers John, Horace and Antonio.

Visiting hours for Amelia will be held Friday, August 10, 2018 from 9:00-10:30 AM at the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home, 64 Sewall St, Ludlow, MA


Service Information

A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held Friday, August 10, 2018 at 11:00 AM in St. Elizabeth’s Parish, Hubbard St. Ludlow, MA. Rites of Committal will follow in St. Aloysius Cemetery, Berkshire Ave, Springfield, MA.


Donation Information

Donations in Amelia’s memory may be made to the Ludlow Senior Center, 37 Chestnut St., Ludlow, MA 01056.

Many of my fondest childhood memories include “TT” Millie. I so looked forward to her rice pudding at Thanksgivings and Christmas’ at Auntie Pauline & Uncle Tony’s house.
