Alfred F. Meher

Family patriarch Alfred F. Meher, 86, passed away on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 surrounded by the family he loved.  Born in Wilbraham, MA on April 10, 1935, he was the son of the late Fred and Catherine Meher. Educated in local schools, Alfred proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army during the Korean War.  He worked as a truck driver for various companies throughout his career, retiring in 1995.  He lived most of his life in Ludlow where he raised his family.

Alfred is survived by his loving sons Alfred Dewayne Meher (Qian) of East Greenbush, NY; Steven Meher (Cheryl) of Monson, Rev. Philip Meher (Michele) of Leeds, ME and his daughter Carol Lambert (Jason) of Monson.  He also leaves his 18 beloved grandchildren Haley, Jordan, Sili, Jessica, Candice, Sabrina, John, David, Nicholas, Andrew, Carolyn, Catherine, James, Nathan, Zachary, Matthew, Timothy, and Andrew, and 7 great-grandchildren.  Sadly, he was predeceased by his wife Elizabeth (Chambers) Meher in 2017.

Family and friends may gather for services celebrating Alfred’s life on Wednesday, October 27. 2021 at 10:00 AM at Bethany Assembly of God, 580 Main St., Agawam, MA.  Burial will follow in Island Pond Cemetery, Center St, Ludlow, MA.  Visiting hours will be Tuesday, October 26, 2021 from 4:00-7:00 PM at the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home, 64 Sewall St, Ludlow, MA.  Donations in Alfred’s memory may be made to Bethany Assembly of God Missions, 580 Main St, Agawam, MA 01001.
