Alan R. Chase, 66, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Son of Jane (Drawec) Chase and the late Richard Chase, he was born in Palmer, MA on February 28, 1958. Alan was a 1976 graduate of Ludlow High School. He was a devoted family man, passionate about his pets, raising livestock and building all sorts of things. He enjoyed working with his father and brothers on racecars, many of which raced at Riverside in Agawam, fueling his love of NASCAR. In his later years, he would often joke that he was “forever 38”, since his mother would tell everyone she was only 39. He was a key individual in the recovery and relief for the town of Monson following the devastating 2011 tornado. He and his sons helped re-open many of the Town’s roads in the days immediately following the tornado. They further helped multiple residents regain access to and use of their properties that were littered with hazardous and downed trees. He was involved with Boy Scout Troop 164 in Palmer for many years. Alan also thoroughly enjoyed vacationing on Cape Cod.
In addition to his mother Jane Chase, Alan is survived by his wife Louise (Belisle) Chase; his two sons Mckinley Chase (Melissa) and Shane Chase; his step-child Kade Methot and his grandsons Lincoln and Jackson Chase. He also leaves his siblings Bill Chase, Scott Chase (Madeline); Linda Kershaw (Randy) and Lois Chase (John Seifert), as well as several nieces and nephews
Visiting hours for Alan will be Friday, March 15, 2024 from 5:00-7:00 PM at the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home, 64 Sewall St., Ludlow, MA. Burial will be private, at the convenience of the family.
