Harold R. Peacey 92, A Member of the Greatest Generation, died Sunday, September 23, 2012, in the care and comfort of his home surrounded by his family. Born in Patterson, NJ March 24, 1920, son of the late Thomas and Agnes (Rankin) Peacey. Harold proudly served his country during World War II as a member of the Army Air Corps, attaining the rank of Corporal. He worked as a time study in production control for Avery-Dennison, and National Blank Book Company. He was an active member of Union Church of Christ, He was a member of their choir, supervisor of the Sunday School Program, a Deacon – Deacon Emeritus he was a member of the Brigham Lodge of Masons, and had served as its Master, and was the oldest living Past Master. Harold was also a past patron of the James W. Hannum Chapter 150 of the Order of the Eastern Star. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Dorothy E. (Gildersleeve) Peacey, a son Thomas Peacey of Ware, MA 2 daughters Carol Rodrigues and Diane Peacey of Ludlow. 9 Grandchildren and 6 great Grandchildren. Also survived by extended family members and friends. Sadly he was predeceased by a son David Peacey who died June 7, 1996.

Funeral services celebrating his life will be Saturday, September 29, 2012, at the Union Church of Christ 51 Center St. (Funeral procession parking on Windsor St.) Ludlow with a Masonic Service at 1:30 followed by the Reverend Jeffrey Erb. Rites of Committal with Military Honors will follow in Island Pond Cemetery.

Where do I start, Harold was such a gentlemen, gave us so much in Sunday school years, my kids will never forget, always pleasant, there when u needed a hand, always positive w/a smile. 4 great kids came along w/Harold & his lovely wife Dot.
