Terry W. Shelton, 63, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 18, 2022. Son of the late William and Ludie (Baltimore) Shelton, he was born in Manchester, TN on November 3, 1958. Educated in Manchester schools, Terry went on to proudly serve his country as an MP in the U.S. Army, where he met his wife and soulmate Dale, whom he married on Valentine’s Day,1981. After settling in Ludlow, Terry worked for Valentine and Boilard Lumber companies and retired from Taylor Rental in East Longmeadow. Terry had a passion for NASCAR, taking road trips, spending time at Lake Wyola as both an avid angler and lifeguard for his family and friends. Terry excelled in playing softball, pool, darts, and Saturday night Poker games, as well as spending time at the A.C. Club in Shutesbury.
Terry is survived by his loyal and loving wife of 41 years, Dale (Mitchell) Shelton; his sister Peggy Arnold; two brothers-in law Jerry (Gail) Mitchell and Guy (Halina) Mitchell and a sister-in law Joyce Bouchard as well as his 3 cats Little Tigie, Bootes and Little Bit. He leaves many nieces and nephews Richie (Tracy) Arnold and their children Richelle and Robert; Pam (Mark) Moreland; Mike, Clyde and Skippy Alford; Lynn Bainbridge; Cory (Rocky) Chapdelaine and their children Aby, Emily and Ben; Heather (Mike) Savage; David (Becky) Mitchell and their children Taylor, Megan, Luke and Seth; Rick (Becky) Bouchard; Bill Bouchard; Jackie Miarecki and her children Gavin and Cameron. In addition, he leaves his extraordinary kids B.G. Theodore, Heather (Jared) Theodore, Kristie (Rich) Kramer along with their children Brooklyn and Lucas, and Matt DeBettencourt; as well as special friends and family that include, Jim and Christine Strickland and their children Jimmy, Heather, Nicole and Jessica; and Terry’s cherished extended family in Massachusetts and Tennessee. In addition to his parents Terry was predeceased by his 5 brothers Jimmy, Leonard, Wesley, Howell and Kenneth Alford; mother and father-in-law “Chick and “Chuck” Mitchell; 2 brothers-in-law Richard Arnold and Richard Bouchard as well as his cat “Babies”
Terry’s family would like to extend special thanks to the staff at Baystate Medical Center, especially his nurse M.J, for the wonderful care provided to him.
Burial, with Military Honors, will take place on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at 10:00AM at the Massachusetts Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Main St., Agawam, MA.
