Stefany C. Zabik, 92, formerly of Indian Orchard, MA died at her home in Breezy Point Niantic, on January 24, 2017.
She was born in Indian Orchard, MA February 11, 1924, the daughter of Stanislaw and Zofia Skowron Irla. Stefany was the widow of Edward Zabik who predeceased her April 9, 1993. A sister Mary Iwaniec predeceased her in 1996.
She had been employed during WWII manufacturing aircraft parts, and had been a cake decorator for many years at Chmura’s Bakery in Indian Orchard, MA.
She is survived by two sons, Joseph J. Zabik and his wife Agnes of Stafford Springs, Gerard Zabik and his husband Gary Stamm of Niantic; a daughter Dr. Teresa Zabik and her husband Casimir Groblewski of Lexington, MA; grandson Matthew J. Zabik and his partner Emily Stanfill of Palmyra VA, many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, nephews, great grand nieces and nephews. We would like to thank her loving caregivers Olenka Lampika, Maka (Manja) Japaridze Erin Rogers R.N., Chrissy Curry and, the staff of Vitas Hospice and her neighbors, especially Carol and Charlie.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday February 4th at 10 AM, in St. Agnes Church, Niantic CT.
Internment will be on Friday February 3rd at 11 AM, Hillcrest Park Cemetery, Springfield MA
