Sophie M. (Chrabasz) Kapinos

Sophie M. (Chrabascz) Kapinos 89 of 1223 Saugatucket Rd. Wakefield, RI former longtime resident of 369 East St. in Ludlow, MA died Thursday August 14, 2008 in South County Hospital in South Kingston, RI. Born in Ware, MA September 13, 1919 she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Mary (Krol) Chrabascz. Sophie was educated in Ludlow Schools and had worked at the former Springfield Armory, and later worked as a payroll supervisor for Electrolux Co. in Springfield. She had been a member of the former Ludlow Mothers Club, and the Ludlow Polish American Women’s Citizens Club. She was a Communicant of Christ the King Church of Kingston, RI. Sadly her husband Edward T. Kapinos died April 4, 1997, and Son Edwin R. Kapinos died December 28, 1985. She is survived by her daughter Connie E. Lachowicz and her husband Tony of Kingston, RI a grand daughter Stephanie K. Lachowicz and her husband Drew Webster of San Francisco, CA a sister Amelia White of East Longmeadow, MA and her cherished grand dog Ella, and many extended family members. Sophie was also pre-deceased by her brother Edwin Chrabascz killed during World War II and a sister Adele Jurczyk.
