Roger Emile Audette, 66, died Monday, July 6th at his home in Ludlow. Roger was born in Springfield, MA on September 29, 1948 son of the late Lionel J. and Alice (Elie) Audette.
He attended the former St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School and was a 1967 graduate of Cathedral High School, both in Springfield, MA. He received his X-ray training from Mercy Hospital School of X-Ray. He later earned two Associates degrees from STCC and his Bachelors degree from Westfield State College in 1984.
Roger proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army in a MASH unit during the Vietnam War and received an honorable discharge in 1972.
Roger retired from Baystate Medical Center after working 42 years as an XRay technician, most recently in the Special Procedures Department
Roger is survived by his loving wife of 43 years Karen (LaRiviere) Audette of Ludlow; three sons Paul (Kristin) of Springfield; Stephen of Ludlow and David of Williamsburg, VA; two daughters Emily Dupre (Patrick) of Goose Creek, SC and Stephanie Keith (Nathan) of Williamston, SC. He also leaves his beloved grandchildren Nicholas, Amara, Chloe, Alexander and Abigail. Roger is also survived by five brothers Joseph Audette (Joan) and Lionel Audette (Ellen) both of Agawam; Gerard Audette (Madeleine) of Springfield; Raymond Audette of Chicopee and Armand Audette (Lisa) of So. Wellfleet, MA.
He will be missed by the members of the NEPA Pool League of Ludlow, MA.
Funeral Services Celebrating Roger’s life will be Friday, July 10, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home, 64 Sewall St, Ludlow, MA followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 12:00 Noon in the Catholic Community of St. Elizabeth, Hubbard St, Ludlow, MA. Rites of Committal with Military Honors will be at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam, MA
