Rita C. Weinstein of Sun City Center, FL passed away on Saturday, November 7, 2020. She was born and raised in Indian Orchard, MA. She was a communicant of the Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Sun City Center, FL. Rita retired from the original Food Mart in Springfield, MA after 25 years as the Delicatessen Manager. She relocated to Sun City Center, FL in 1988 and worked for 20 years as a clerk for Beall’s Dept Stores in FL. She enjoyed classical/semi-classical music and her special hobby collection of demitasse cups and saucers from around the world.
She was predeceased by her husband Erwin Weinstein earlier this year; her parents Hermegilde and Corrine Castonguay; brothers Lucien, Louis, Leo and Maurice; sisters Jean Wood, Annette Hayes, Marie Bombard, Germaine Morin, Claire Castonguay, Lucienne Giboleau and Theresa Broderick and her great-granddaughter Danielle Topolski.
Rita is survived by her sons James LaRose and his wife Teina and Kenneth LaRose, both of Springfield; her grandchildren Joleen Miller and Ron Archer; Dean LaRose and his wife Tina and Jason LaRose. She also leaves her great grandchildren Christina Pelletier-Faulkner, Joshua Loze, Savannah and Jackson LaRose as well as many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to gather for Rita’s funeral Mass on Saturday, November 14, 2020 at 10:00 AM in St. Catherine of Siena Church, 1001 Parker St. Springfield, MA. Burial will be private for immediate family only. There are no calling hours. Masks, social distancing and all gathering restrictions will be strictly adhered to. Donations may be made to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104.
