Obituary

On December 6th 2025 at 88 years of age Richard Barrus departed this earth to be with his beloved wife Ann Barrus. Richard was born in Springfield Massachusetts in 1937 to parents Pauline and Earl Barrus. He proudly served 20 years in the United States Air Force as a Technical Sergeant, retiring in 1976. He was preceded in death by his older sister Beverly Midwood.

Richard is survived by three children; Michael Barrus, Karen Norton and her husband James Norton, and Julie Hunter, six grandchildren; Sarah Beaupre and her husband Daniel Beaupre, Matthew Hunter, Heather Barrus and her fiancé Trenton Anderson, Paul Barrus, Scott Barrus, Carrie Lynch and her wife Heather Lynch, as well as several great grandchildren.

Visiting hours for Richard will be Thursday, December 11, 2025 from 5:00-7:00 PM at the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home, 64 Sewall Street, Ludlow, MA. Burial will be private, at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Massachusetts Veterans’ Home at Holyoke, Attn: Treasurer’s Office, 110 Cherry St., Holyoke, MA 01040, please note “in memory of Richard Barrus”.
