Richard E. Rickson Sr, 82 of Westfield, passed away on Wednesday, March 16, 2022. Son of the late Henry and Beatrice (Plouffe) Rickson, he was born in Ludlow on September 20, 1939. A graduate of the former Springfield Trade High School, Richard was a textile worker at several local mills and in North Carolina. He loved to fish, played softball for the Relics and was a member of the Marksmen Drum and Bugle Corps.
Richard leaves his children Richard Rickson Jr. (Maria); Kimberly Weiss (Leonard); his brothers Thomas Rickson (Donna) and James Rickson (Paula). He also leaves 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Richard will be held Friday, March 25, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home 64 Sewall St., Ludlow, MA followed by burial in St. Aloysius Cemetery. Visiting hours at the funeral home will precede the service from 9:30-11:00 AM. Donations in Richard’s memory may be made to St. John the Baptist School, 271 Hubbard St., Ludlow, MA 01056.
