Richard A. Borden

Richard A. Borden, 77 of Ludlow died Monday November 25, 2013 in Baystate Medical Center. Born in New Bedford, MA May 26, 1936 son of the late Roland and Dorothy (Chase) Borden. Educated in local schools, he proudly served his country during the Korean War as a member of the United States Army. A member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Richard had worked for the United States Postal Service for many years, he was the past president of the New England Chapter of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. He was a member of the Board of Directors for the Pioneer Valley Credit Union, and was honored as volunteer of the year by the Massachusetts Credit Union League. Richard was also a runner and was proud the have completed the Boston Marathon. He is survived by his wife, Faith R. (Robinson) Borden. His 3 daughters Alana Cullington of Southampton, MA Julia Reidy of North Adams, MA and Amy Peck of Ludlow, MA Cherished grandfather of LaRae Mercier, Rachel Cullington, Danny Cullington and PFC. Ethan Mercier. Sadly he was predeceased by his brother David Borden. He is also survived by extended family members and friends.
