Raul F. Dias

Raul F. Dias, 85, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully at Baystate Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family on January 9, 2019. Raul retired from the Ludlow School Department where he worked in the maintenance department for many years. He was an avid soccer fan and enjoyed watching his beloved Benfica soccer club. He also enjoyed dining out at local restaurants with family and friends. Born in Belem, Portugal to the late Antonio and Deolinda Dias on March 2, 1933, he immigrated to the United States in 1966 and has resided in Ludlow for 53 years.

Raul is survived by his loving children Isabel Fava and her husband Alexandre of North Port, FL and Augustino A. Dias and his wife Maria of Ludlow, sister Eliza Serra and her husband Raul of Ludlow and brother-in-law Augusto Porfirio of Ludlow. He leaves his loving grandchildren Lisa Dias, Angelina Fragoso and her husband Donnie, Cristina Pedro and her husband Mark, Daniel Dias and his wife Rebecca and Christopher Dias and his fiancée Patricia and her daughter Amalia. He also leaves his 6 great-grandchildren Olivia, Adia, Cidalia, Stella, Gavin and Logan, as well as many nieces and nephews. Sadly he was predeceased by his loving wife Aurora, cherished grandson Michael R. Dias and sisters Margarida Ramos and Maria Porfirio.

Visiting hours for Raul will be Monday, January 14, 2019 from 9:00-10:30 AM at the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home, 64 Sewall St., Ludlow, MA, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in Our Lady of Fatima Church. Burial will be in Island Pond Cemetery.
