Philomena (Pierog) Lata 88 formerly of White St. Ludlow died Saturday April 6, 2013 in the Masonic Overlook Care Center of Charlton, MA Born in the Thompsonville section of Enfield, CT on March 21, 1925 daughter of the late Wladyslaw and Aniela (Tabor) Pierog. Educated in local schools she was a 1942 graduate of Enfield High School. A Communicant of Christ the King Church, she had worked as a secretary for Monsanto Chemical Company for many years. She was the widow of Edward T. Lata who died July 8, 2006. She is survived by he children, Paul M. Lata and his wife Deborah of Westfield, MA and Laura L. Coughlin and her husband James of North Grafton, MA Grandmother of Nicolas Lata, Jonathan Coughlin and Kate Coughlin. Sister of Helen Banis of Enfield, CT and Wanda Lamana of Sharon, MA Also survived by extended family members and friends. Sadly she was pre-deceased by siblings Matthew, Ernest and Alvin Chic Pierog, and Stella and Lotilda.

Funeral services celebrating her life will be Wednesday April 10, 2013 at 10:30 AM from the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home 64 Sewall St. Ludlow followed by an 11 AM Liturgy of Christian Burial in Christ the King Church 41 Warsaw Avenue Ludlow at 11 AM. Rites of committal will follow in Hillcrest Park Cemetery.
