Patricia (Rooney) Day 77 of Bridle Path Circle died Sunday afternoon September 20, 2009. Born in Ludlow, MA March 15, 1932 she was the daughter of the late Emmet and Helen (Russell) Rooney. A graduate of Cathedral High School, Patricia continued her education at the College of Our Lady of the Elms. She had worked as a teacher for the Ludlow, Palmer and Diocesan School Systems. A faithful Communicant of Christ the King Church, she was a member of the Daughters of Isabella, and will long be remembered as the longtime Chairman of the Massachusetts Citizens for Life Ludlow Chapter. She is survived by her husband John I. Day together they shared 51 years of marriage. Her sons Russell A. Day of Washington, DC and Thomas E. Day and his wife Kate of West Springfield, MA Cherished grandmother of Jack, Timmy, and Mikey. Pat is also survived by many extended family members and friends. Sadly she was predeceased by her brother and sister in law William R. Rooney and Julie Ann (Flynn) Rooney.

Service Information

Funeral services celebrating her life will be Friday September 25, 2009 with family and friends gathering at the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home 64 Sewall St. Ludlow at 8:45 AM. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will follow at 10 AM in Christ the King Church 41 Warsaw Avenue Ludlow Rites of Committal will follow in Island Pond Cemetery.
