Nellie M. (Lackowskas) Szarkowski 94 of Ludlow died Monday March 1 in a South Hadley nursing home. Born in Sunderland, MA July 30, 1915 she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Martha (Barkowskas) Lackowskas. A Communicant of Christ the King Church, she was office manager, secretary, and book keeper for Terra Motus Construction Co of Ludlow retiring in 1972. She was a member of the Ludlow Senior Citizen’s Club. Her husband Joseph S. Szarkowski died April 7, 1999. She is survived by a sister Minnie L. Johnson of Charlotte, NC and extended family members. It was Nellie’s wish that funeral services be celebrated privately for family. A Liturgy of Christian Burial was offered by Fr. Raymond A. Soltys in Christ the King Church with Rites of Committal following in Island Pond Cemetery.
