Nancy-June (Sears) Royce

Nancy-June (Sears) Royce, 86, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 1, 2021.  Born in Springfield, MA on October 1, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Ward and Noreen (Morgan) Sears.  A graduate of the former Springfield Technical High School, she worked at MassMutual until her marriage to Richard (Dick) Royce. An active, outgoing, and artistic person, she spent many years doing home demonstrations, first for Copper Craft and later for Artex. She was an active member of East Church in Springfield before becoming involved with First Church in Ludlow. She and Dick enjoyed spending time camping with friends. They also enjoyed hosting people in their home, especially Christmas Eve open houses and choir picnics. They finished their careers owning and running Warren True Value Hardware in Warren, MA. They then retired to their home, enjoying their family and many hours on their back deck watching the birds and reading.

Nancy-June is survived by her sons Richard Jr. and his wife Ann of Dennis, MA and Russell and his wife Denise of Ludlow.  She also leaves her grandchildren Beth Neas and her husband Scott; Daniel Royce and his wife Coral; Timothy, Christopher and Jonathan Royce as well as her great-grandchildren Sasha and Jack.  Sadly, she was predeceased by her beloved husband of 64 years, Richard Royce, on February 14, 2021 as well as her brother Ward Sears.

Walk-through, no contact visiting hours for Nancy-June will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at from 10:00-11:00 AM at First Church in Ludlow, Center St., Ludlow, MA. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM.  Burial will be private, at the convenience of the family.  Masks, social distancing, no contact and all gathering restrictions will be adhered to.
