Nancy J. (Downie) Kenyon, 72, of Ludlow, passed away at home with her children Albert and Amanda Kenyon by her side on Wednesday, July 9, 2025. Daughter of the late Albert and Jeannie (Martin) Downie, she was born in Ludlow and was a lifelong resident in the home in which she was raised. She was a 1972 graduate of Ludlow High School and a lifelong member of Evangelical Covenant Church in Indian Orchard. She had a deep faith in God and taught after school classes for kids for a few years.
She worked at several jobs including, but not limited to waitressing when she was younger and owning a laundromat in Belchertown for over a decade. She worked at WNEC as a housekeeper for several years, worked at or managed several laundry and dry cleaners in Springfield and Chicopee. She was a scheduler for Murphy Avis Assisted Living and a caretaker for seniors at the same business, which she loved.
Nancy was married once to Edgar Kenyon and divorced after 13 years. He passed away in 2017. She is survived by her children Amanda Kenyon and Albert Kenyon and partner David Ribeiro of Ludlow, Indian Orchard and Chicopee, a daughter/stepdaughter with Edgar whom she considered as her own Karen Kenyon Spencer and her husband Allan of Ware and their children, Nancyβs grandchildren Elaine Canary-Bracci, Robert Canary and James Spencer. She also leaves her brother Robert Downie of North Brookfield who survives his wife Diane Downie and sadly their children Dana and Heather Downie. In addition to her parents, Nancy was predeceased by her other brother David and his wife Cheryl Downie, leaving their children Todd and Michelle Downie.
