Myrtle Mae (Falconer) "Sis" Savoie

Myrtle Mae “Sis” (Falconer) Savoie, 90, of Ludlow passed away on Friday, September 15, 2017. Daughter of the late Ralph and Enid (McEwan) Falconer, she was born in Ludlow on April 28, 1927.  A graduate of Ludlow High School, Myrtle played on the basketball team and later on the Hockey Moms’ team.  She was a school bus driver for the towns of Ludlow and Wilbraham for over 25 years.  She supported her community, church and family’s many interests by actively participating with the Scouts, the Boys and Girls Club’s ‘Gypsy Tribe’ camping group and FMCA “RV” Chapters.  Myrt was a hands-on contributor in all things and a true and loving life companion to her husband.  Her kids were all proud to call her Mom.  Upon their retirement Myrt and Rene resided in Johnson, VT for over 35 years, returning to Ludlow in 2013.

Myrtle is survived by her husband of 70 years Rene J. Savoie of Ludlow, MA: four sons Rhett (Jane) of Berlin, VT, Reid (Carol) of Wilbraham, MA, Rory of Johnson, VT, Reese of Ludlow, MA; three daughters Regina Germain (Jack) of Hampden, MA, Roxanne Savoie of Ludlow, MA and Rhonda Zina (Dick) of Palmer, MA. She also leaves her brother Roland “Chick” Falconer of Wells, ME.  She leaves 16 beloved grandchildren: Journe and Jacene Germain, Jolette (Ryan) Conway, Curt Zina, Calli (Tony) Phillips, Corinne (Bill) Matchett, Britney (Adam) Crisafulli,  Bethany(Luke) Jenne, Brandon (Jaime) Savoie, Brody (Jillian) Savoie, Austin (Amanda) Savoie, Zarah, Zethen, Soren, Torrey and Taren Savoie as well as 16 great-grandchildren Kailen, Rilynn, Emerson, Cardin, Theoren, Tristan, Raelyn, Matthew, Mason, Mia, Isalina, Emiliana, Luca, Roman, Reese, and Gehrig. Myrtle leaves surviving in-laws Rita (Larry) Beaudry and Roland Savoie both of Ludlow, MA and Mary “Mimi” Savoie of Agawam.  Myrtle was predeceased by her brothers Ralph E. and Bob “Punchy” Falconer.

Myrt will also be fondly remembered by her many friends, RV fellows, neighbors (VT and MA) and the loving staff and residents from Life Care Center of Wilbraham, MA.
