Mildred T. (Galas) Kielbania, 94, of Indian Orchard, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 8, 2019. Daughter of the late Gawel and Caroline Galas, she was born in Indian Orchard on April 10, 1924. A lifelong resident, she was educated in local schools and worked in quality control for State Line Potato Chip Co until her retirement. Mildred was an active member of Immaculate Conception Church, serving as a member of the St. Anne’s Sodality and coordinating pierogi making for the parish’s annual Dozynki festival. She served as president of the PAV Women’s Auxiliary, loved Bingo and was an avid bowler, winning many championships in her younger years.
Mildred is survived by her 4 grandchildren Melissa Scott, Brian Bator, Deanna Cohen and Tanya Crisostomo, as well as 4 great-grandchildren. Sadly she was predeceased by her husband Louis Kielbania in 2004 and her daughter Barbara Bator in 1993. .
Visiting hours will be Wednesday, March 13, 2019 from 10:00-11:00 AM at the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home, 64 Sewall St, Ludlow, MA, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:30 AM in Immaculate Conception Church, Parker St., Springfield, MA. Rites of Committal will follow in St. Aloysius Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be Wednesday, March 13, 2019 from 10:00-11:00 AM at the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home, 64 Sewall St, Ludlow, MA.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at 11:30 AM in Immaculate Conception Church, Parker St., Springfield, MA. Burial will follow in St. Aloysius Cemetery
