Obituary

Michael O’Connor, 63, of South Hadley, passed away peacefully after a brief, yet brave battle with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis, on Wednesday, March 20, 2019, surrounded by the love of his family. Son of the late Robert and Joan (Ginalski) O’Connor, he was born in Springfield August 28, 1955.  A graduate of Chicopee Comprehensive High School, Michael proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Navy.   Michael was employed by the United States Postal Service, followed by self-employment as a   professional painter for many years.

Michael is survived by his wife Sundy Ann O’Connor, his children Kristin McCoy, Matthew Rollins, Justin Payne, Toni Marie Torres and Sarah Rouse, his sisters Karen Methe, Dianne O’Conner and Lisa Broduer and his beloved step-mother Elizabeth O’Connor.  He also leaves his 8 beloved grandchildren Emma, Joslin, Austin, Skylar, Jacob, Nathan, Faith, Issac, Justus and Joy.

Michael will always be remembered for his kind heart, O’Connor sense of humor, warm, beautiful smile, perfection in his painting jobs, and willingness to help those in need.

A Celebration of Life service with Military Honors will be held Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at 7:00 PM at the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home, 64 Sewall St., Ludlow, MA.  Burial will be private, at the convenience of the family.  Visiting hours at the funeral home will precede the service from 5:30-7:00. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 230 East Ohio St., Suite 400, Chicago, IL 60611.
