Matthew J. Stec, Jr., 71, of Ludlow died Thursday at his home. He was born in Springfield, son of Matthew J. and Josephine (Zatorski) Stec. He was a graduate of Chicopee High School and an Army Veteran of the Vietnam Era. Matthew was a resident of Ludlow for the past 42 years. He was employed by the United States Postal Service, at the Bulk Mail Center in Springfield and for Milton Bradley. He was a member of the Polish American Citizens Club in Ludlow and was a cook at the former Polish American Veterans Club in Wilbraham. He was the husband of the late Patricia J. (Trybus) Stec, who died in 2005. He leaves a son, Michael J. Stec and his wife Patricia of Ludlow and two daughters, Kimberly A. Devine and her husband, Richard and Melissa A. Moquin and her husband, James all of Ludlow, one sister, Phyllis Bednarz of Chicopee. He has 6 grandchildren, Shawn, Matthew, Carly, Kevin, Jacob and Ashlyn and one great grandson, Jace.
Matthews funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at 11AM at the Kapinos Mazur Funeral Home, 64 Sewall St., Ludlow. Committal services with Military Honors will follow in Island Pond Cemetery, Ludlow
