Mary H. (Czajka) Sagan

Mary H. (Czajka) Sagan, 97, of Indian Orchard, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 24, 2019.  Born in Wilbraham on December 22, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Bartholomew and Catherine (Glod) Czajka.  A lifelong resident, Mary worked for many years as a seamstress at American Bosch and later at the Nixon Company, retiring in 1983.  She was a devout communicant of Immaculate Conception Church.  Mary was a devoted wife, mother and an avid baker.

Mary is survived by two daughters Christina Skowron and her husband Richard of Agawam and JoAnn Filiau and her husband Paul of Chicopee. She also leaves 3 grandchildren Christine and her fiance Justin, Michelle and her boyfriend Steve and Michael and his girlfriend Brittney; her great-granddaughter Ava and her niece MaryAnn Tyksienski. Sadly she was predeceased by her husband Leo Sagan in 1985, her grandson Matthew Skowron in 2018 as well as her sister Stella Tyksienski and her brothers Walter and Casmir Czajka.

Mary’s family would like to thank the staff at Mount St. Vincent Care Center, especially Josey and Verna.

Visiting hours for Mary will be Saturday, November 30, 2019 from 9:30-10:30 AM at the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home, 64 Sewall St, Ludlow, MA followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in Immaculate Conception Church.  Burial will be in St. Aloysius Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary’s memory may be made to the Community Survival Center, 240 Main St., Indian Orchard, MA 01151.
