Margery D. Baird

LUDLOW – Margery D. Baird 85 of 612 East St. Ludlow, MA died Thursday April 21, 2005 in Baystate Medical Center of Springfield, MA. Born in Greenwich, CT April 30, 1919 she was the daughter of the late Paul R. & Mary E. (Neal) Baird. A member of Union Church of Christ, she was active in many of it’s groups including the Ladies Aid Society, The Church Memorial Fund, and the Church Council. She was also a member of the Ladies of the Evening Dinner Group. Educated in Ludlow Public Schools she was a graduate of Ludlow High School, Simmons College with her bachelors degree, and Springfield College with her masters degree in education. She was a member of the Longmeadow Education Association, and had worked as a librarian having served as librarian in East Jaffery, NH and Norwood, MA School Librarian in Adams, MA at the Hubbard Memorial Library in Ludlow, MA and at Springfield College. She also worked for the Town of Longmeadow as Librarian at Longmeadow High School from its opening until 1984. Margery was also active in the Quota International of Springfield. She is survived by her sisters, Barbara B. Ferguson of Incline Village, NV and Mary Judith Jahn of Beverly Hills, FL 5 nephews and one niece. 6 grand nieces and 6 gand nephews.
