Margaret (Morin) Mascaro

Margaret (Morin) Mascaro of Wilbraham died peacefully on Friday October 12, 2012. Margaret’s 89 years were filled with great adventures and great memories, especially those shared with Tony, her husband of 55 years, and her 3 children, 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Tony, who passed away in 2001, and Margaret are most remembered in Wilbraham as the owners of Antonio’s Restaurant. Although closed for many years, the family is still often approached by people who fondly recall the fun, food and revelry they enjoyed at Antonio’s.
Margaret and Tony’s children, Tom Mascaro and wife Lynn of Monson, MA, Dan Mascaro and wife Barbara of Hudson, NH and Tina (Mascaro) Guidetti and husband Ron of Wilbraham, remember Margaret as a caring mother and peaceful soul who was liked by all she met.
Margaret was born in Chicopee, lived in Springfield and Agawam, but spent most of her life in Wilbraham raising her children in a house built by Tony. She was proud to have served as a US Marine and later held a variety of jobs, including many years with the Ludlow Savings Bank.
The Mascaro household was always a place of wonderful smells and tastes, thanks to Margaret’s love of cooking. Margaret managed the kitchen at Antonio’s and personally created many of the homemade dishes loved by so many. Margaret was an avid reader who enjoyed learning, travel and making friends. She expressed herself through her artistic endeavors, such as painting and making custom jewelry.
The family would like to thank the care givers at LifeCare in Wilbraham for taking such good care of Margaret for the past 5 years.
