Lorraine W. (Williamson) Ney

Lorraine W. (Williamson), 88, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 18, 2021.  Daughter of the late Laurence and Bella (Lavoie) Williamson, she was born in Ludlow on June 5, 1933.  A lifelong resident of Ludlow, Lorraine was educated in the Ludlow School system. She attended and graduated from Springfield Technical Institute in 1965 as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She worked at Springfield Hospital for two years after graduation. She then was employed at Birch Manor Nursing Home for twenty-eight years, first as a charge nurse, later as a Supervisor. She then worked at Holyoke Geriatric Authority for eight years as a Charge Nurse. During that time she also worked as a volunteer for the Ludlow Board of Health. She accepted a part time position at Ludlow Board of Health in 2004 and completed her career at that position.

Lorraine is survived by her son Laurence Dias of Ludlow, two daughters Renee Dias Sirois and her husband David of Feeding Hills and Hayley Babineau and her husband Mark of Ludlow and her sister Joyce Gregoire of Monson.  She also leaves her 8 grandchildren Krista, Jason, Justin, Michael, Lindsay, Valerie, Stephanie, William, her 2 great-granddaughters Ava and Harper, many nieces and nephews, and a very special friend, Nancy Tessier of Ludlow, with whom she shared a love of theater, travel and movie going. Sadly, she was predeceased by her husband Harry Ney in 2018; her daughter Suzanne Dias and sister Eileen Pereira in 2020 and her sister Alice Costa in August, 2021.

Visiting hours for Lorraine and Harry will be held on Monday, November 29, 2021 from 9:30-11:00 AM at the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home, 64 Sewall St., Ludlow, MA.  A funeral home service will be held at 11:00 AM followed by rites of committal with Military Honors in Island Pond Cemetery.
