Obituary

Leonard E. Lebel, 57, a longtime Ludlow resident, passed away on Wednesday, August 18, 2021.  Son of the late Lucien and LaPrensa (Myers) Lebel, he was born in Chicopee, MA on March 6, 1964.  He was a graduate of Ludlow High School and worked as a printer operator for many local publications.

Lenny’s  family would like him to be remembered by his friends and family by raising a glass of cold birch beer in a toast, while listening to any Grateful Dead song and by donating to any drug and alcohol treatment facility.

Leonard is survived by his brother Michel Lebel (Penny) of Ludlow, and his sisters Mary Morcavage (Michael) of Ludlow and Janice Pizzi (A. Michael) of Peyton, CO  as well as several nieces and nephews and many close friends, too numerous to list, in Massachusetts and Colorado. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers Kenneth and John Lebel.

The family would like to express their appreciation to Tom Niquette and Tammy Lafortune for their kindness to Lenny during his last few weeks.

All services are private, with burial at the convenience of the family.

Extra love to you all during this sad and difficult time. When I think of Lenny, I smile and chuckle - picturing him in his favorite attire - tie dyed t-shirts, sandles, and shorts. His love for Grateful Dead music was a treasure. He was a good man who loved and was loved by many. Love Suzanne, Charlie and family

I light this candle in memory of you; actually we light three last night. May you feel the love during this sad time. May the serenity of a simple flame give you strength and peace.

Lenny always shared memories like you were living his words. He was planning on making me dinner and it was a hundred course meal, so descriptive I was starving after reading the menu. Sadly we didn't get there. I will miss his stories and plans for his future. My sincere condolences to his loving family. ❤ rest in peace my friend. You will be missed dearly. I hope in heaven you write that book.

RIP Uncle Lenny....I'll begrudgingly listen to a few Dead tunes in your honor, lol. I will think of you every time I walk into a Mom and Pop restaurant and every time I listen to a good comedian! xo
