Obituary

Leona M. (Cormier) Minnie 91 of Ludlow a member of The Greatest Generation, passed into eternal life on Tuesday March 1, 2011 at Mercy Medical Center of Springfield, MA Born in New Brunswick, Canada she became a U.S. Citizen in 1944, and has lived in Ludlow since 1953. Proud to be a Cathedral High School Graduate, she was a member of the Class of 1938, and was a member of it’s girl’s basketball team. Leona was a strong believer in a Catholic Education. Truly Leona’s greatest joy in life was her marriage, her family and her deep faith in God. She had a wonderful life with her beloved husband, the late Armand F. Minnie who predeceased her in 1999. They did everything together. They especially enjoyed their family, and in their senior years, they traveled a bit, played golf and billiards. Leona enjoyed most sports, but her favorite was golf and she was a natural. Leona was a wonderful mother, a loving presence to all her family. She was a faithful friend to many, and readily gave of herself in so many ways. She is survived by her loving family, children Armand Minnie and his wife Carol of Marana, AZ DuAnne Pasquini and her husband Richard of Ludlow, MA Leonard Minnie and his wife Joanne of Brimfield, MA Diane Robinson and her husband Davin of Friendship, ME and Wilbraham, MA, a daughter in law Jean Woodall of Rocklin, CA. Cherished grandmother of Brian, Mark, David, Ryan, Nicole, Chad, Alison, and Erika. Great-grandmother of 17. Sister of Bertha Pisarek of Hampden, MA Dorothy Topor of Chicopee, MA Margarite Paquette of West Warren, MA Sadly she was predeceased by siblings Reginald Cormier, Joseph Cormier, Lily Bousquet, Pauline Patterson, and Alfred Cormier. Also survived by extended family and friends.

Service Information

Funeral Services Celebrating Her Life will be Monday March 7, 2011 with family and friends gathering at 9 AM at the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home 64 Sewall St. Ludlow followed by a Con-Celebrated Liturgy of Christian Burial offered by the Catholic Community of St. Elizabeth in St. John the Baptist Church 181 Hubbard St. Ludlow at 10 AM. Rites of Committal will follow in Island Pond Cemetery.
