Lena J. (Mamicki) Lak 84 of Indian Orchard died Wednesday November 30 in Mercy Medical Center. Born in Chicopee, MA August 11, 1927 daughter of the late Stanley and Josephine (Pietras) Mamicki. A faithful Communicant of Immaculate Conception Church, she was a member of its Senior Citizen Group, and it’s Rosary Society. She was a pierogi maker for the parish. Lena had worked as a cashier with over 25 years of service at Stop and Shop. She was also recording secretary for the Polish American Veteran’s Club Ladies Auxiliary, and a member of the Polonia Club. She is survived by her husband Tadeusz “Ted” W. Lak, daughters Kathleen J. Tereso of Ludlow, and Barbara A. Stadnicki and her husband Stanley of Morrisonville, NY Sadly she was predeceased by a son Walter J. Lak. She is survived by a sister Anne Jurkowsky of Springfield, a brother Frederick Mamicki and his wife Alice of Chicopee. Also survived by daughter in law Amy Braveman. She was predeceased by her brother Walter Manicki and his wife Carrie, Sister Alice Zywna and her husband Edward, Stella Kowal and her husband Stanley and a brother in law Adam Jurkowsky, and a son in law Anibal Tereso. Grandmother of Laura, Lisa, Steven, Jennifer and Stefanie. Great grandmother of Samuel, Sydni, and Conor. .Also survived by several nieces and nephews extended family members and friends. Family and friends may gather Tuesday December 6 at 11 AM at Immaculate Conception Church 15 Parker Street Indian Orchard for a Liturgy of Christian Burial offered by Fr. Stanley Sokol. Rites of Committal will follow in Hillcrest Park Cemetery.
