LAWRENCE P. BOURCIER
1931-2008
LUDLOW – Lawrence P. Bourcier 76 of Ludlow died suddenly Wednesday August 13, 2008. Born in Ludlow, MA November 11, 1931 son of the late Bertha (Plouffe) and Lionel Bourcier Sr. Educated in local schools, Larry proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict as a member of the United States Navy attaining the rank of shopkeeper 2nd Class. He later worked for New England Telephone as a telephone technician lineman with many years of service. A faithful Communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church, he was active in many parish activities, he was a member of it’s choir and was cantor at many funerals in the parish. A piano player he had a great love for music including polkas, he was a member of Ludlow Tennis Club and Springfield Tennis Club. He was a blood donor for the American Red Cross, and avid bowler, a noted gardener and a lawn fanatic. He will long be remembered by his family and friends as the biggest kid at fireworks displays. Sadly he was predeceased by his first wife Marion (Haluch) Bourcier. He is survived by his loving wife Marian (Tokarz) Bourcier, his children Jeff Bourcier of Indian Orchard, Robert Bourcier of Chicopee, John Bourcier of Ludlow, and daughter Linda Young of Ludlow, his step children, David White of Zephyr Hills, FL John White of Westminster, MD and James White of Belchertown, and Valerie Smith of Ludlow. Devoted grandfather of Adam, Erica, Ashlee, and Kayla. Brother of Francis Bourcier of Ludlow and Bernard Bourcier of Pearl City HI, and Bernadette Borbeau of Ludlow, brother in law of Viola Bourcier of Ludlow. Also survived by many extended family members and friends. Sadly he was predeceased by siblings Lionel Bourcier Jr., Eugene Bourcier, Charles Bourcier, and Theresa Ford.

Funeral services celebrating his life will be Saturday August 16, 2008 with family and friends gathering at 8:15 AM at the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home 64 Sewall St. Ludlow followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial in St, Mary of the Assumption Church 465 East St. Ludlow at 9:30 AM. Rites of committal with Military Honors will follow in Island Pond Cemetery.
