Laurence A. Auffrey Sr.

Laurence A. Auffrey Sr. 83 of Ludlow was peacefully called from his home Saturday September 8, 2007 surrounded by his loving and caring family. Born in Ludlow July 9, 1924 he lived in the Indian Orchard section of Springfield, and was educated in Springfield Public Schools. Larry proudly served his country during World War II serving in the Army Air Corps of the 1375 th AAF Base Unit, serving as a Military Police Officer. He attained the rank of Corporal. He later worked for over 45 years at Monsanto Chemical Company, retiring as a chemical operator. He was a communicant of the former St. Aloysius Church in Indian Orchard, and attended daily Mass at St. John the Baptist Church in Ludlow. He was married to Anita A. (Mayou) Auffrey for over 53 years. Sadly she died in May of 1999. Larry is survived by his loving family, daughter Carol Teixeira and her husband Thomas of Belchertown, MA sons Laurence Auffrey Jr. and his wife Dolores of Ludlow, Gary Auffrey and his wife Paulette, and Glenn Auffrey and his companion Vicky Martins all of Belchertown. 3 Sisters Evelyn Baron of New Hampshire, Jean Bruni of Florida, and Irene Barone of Indian Orchard. 2 Brothers Hank Auffrey of Indian Orchard and Butch Auffrey of Ludlow. His devoted friend and companion Irene Smith of Ludlow. Devoted Pepe of Kara & Paul Goodchild, Kevin & Carrie Auffrey, Lauren Auffrey, Aimee Teixeira, Brian & Elizabeth Teixeira, Kyle & Kayla Auffrey, Ethan & Jordan Auffrey. Adoring great grandfather of Lynn & Luke Goodchild, and Zander Auffrey. Larry is also survived by many extended family members and friends.
