Krystyna (Kowal) Napierski

Krystyna (Kowal) Napierski, 99, of Ludlow, passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2024. Daughter of the late Jan and Juliana (Baran) Kowal, she was born in Warsaw, Poland on December 24, 1924. A woman of iron, Krystyna’s early life was marked by the struggles and hardships of surviving during World War II in Poland. She went to England after the war, where she met her husband, Jan Napierski. She immigrated to the U.S. in 1956, settling in Indian Orchard. She worked for American International College for many years, retiring at the age of 82. Krystyna was a communicant of Christ the King Parish. Krystyna loved her family and enjoyed dancing. She lived a remarkable life, marked by resilience. She passed 23 days short of her 100th birthday…Stolat!

Krystyna is survived by her son Edward Napierski and his wife Martha and her daughter Lucy Obrzut, all of Ludlow; her sister Josephine Bozyk; her grandsons Christopher Napierski (Chalisa) of Oakdale, CT and Mathew Napierski (Jeni Hayden) of Attleboro and her great-grandsons Noah and Gideon. Krystyna also leaves several nieces and nephews here and in Poland. Sadly, she was predeceased by her husband Jan Napierski, her brother Tolek Kowal; her sister Janina Rybczyk and her son-in-law Walter Obrzut Jr.

Krystyna’s family would like to thank her personal caregivers Barbara Casey and Sandy Jenkins for the kindness and compassion.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Liturgy of Christian Burial for Krystyna on Friday, December 6, 2024 at 11:00 AM in Christ the King Church, 40 Warsaw Ave, Ludlow, MA. Burial will follow in St, Aloysisus Cemetery, Berkshire Ave, Springfield, MA. There are no calling hours.
