Karl W. Tower, 88, of Ludlow, passed away on Monday, June 30, 2025. Son of the late Harry and Carrol (Clark) Tower, he was born in Northampton on December 4, 1936. He attended Northampton High School and graduated from Smith School. Karl enlisted in the Air National Guard in Westfield and was employed full time as a mechanic for 40 years, retiring as Sr. Master Sergeant in 1995. In October, 1961 during the Berlin crisis, he was activated to Phalsbourg, France for 9 months as part of Operation Stair Step. After his retirement, he drove tractor trailers for many years. Karl enjoyed golfing with his buddies and playing cornhole. He was a member of the Williamsburg Grange for over 65 years and of Union Church of Christ in Ludlow until its closing.
Karl is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years Geraldine (Start) Tower; his daughters Jennifer Tower and Darlene Prescott and her husband Steve and his precious granddaughter Adalind. He also leaves his childhood and lifelong friends Robert “Bobby” LePage and Robert Hil, his sister-in-law Dolores Tower, as well as a large extended family. In addition to his parents, Karl was predeceased by his brother Austin Tower and his sisters Harriet Culver and Gladys Adams.
Visiting hours for Karl will be Monday, July 7, 2025 from 4:00-6:30 PM at the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home, 64 Sewall St, Ludlow, MA. A funeral home service will be held at 6:30 PM. concluding with Military Honors. Burial will be private, at the convenience of the family.
