June M. (Pierog) Ober, 78, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 31, 2017. Born in Thompsonville, CT on August 20, 1938 she was the daughter of the late Alvin and Steffie (Kapinos) Pierog. A graduate of Enfield High School, June worked for many years at Westvaco and later at Big Y. June loved animals, especially her beloved Shi Tzu Oriel.
June is survived by her brother Alvin Pierog and his wife Lynne of Somers, CT, Anne-Marie Blake of Ludlow who was her longtime neighbor and good friend who was there for her 24/7 along with her cousin Mary Nothe, as well as several nieces and nephews. Sadly she was predeceased by her husband Robert Ober in 2012 and her siblings John Pierog and Elaine Secondo.

Visiting hours at the funeral home will be Saturday, August 5, 2017 from 9:00 AM until the time of the service.
Funeral services for June will be held Saturday, August 5, 2017 at 10:30 AM at the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home, 64 Sewall St., Ludlow, MA. Burial will follow St. Adalbert’s Cemetery, Enfield, CT.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to T.J. O’Conner Animal Shelter, 627 Cottage St, Springfield, MA 01104.
