Joseph L. Yelinek Jr. 83 of Brookhaven Dr. Ludlow died Thursday October 25, 2007 at his home. Born in Springfield, MA November 9, 1923 he was the son of the late Joseph L. and Agnes E. (Deeley) Yelinek. A Navy Veteran of World War 2 he proudly served his country as a gunner mate third class. He received the Asiatic Pacific Area Medal, American Area Medal and the Victory Medal. Joe had worked for many years as a machinist for American Bosh, he retired in 1986 as a machinist with Jahn Foundry. He was a communicant of Christ the King Church, was a past member of the Ludlow Polish American Citizen’s Club, and was a season ticket holder for the Pioneer’s Soccer Team. He will long be remembered as the proud grandfather sitting on the side lines watching his granddaughters playing soccer. He is survived by his wife of 59 years Stasia (Ryczek) Yelinek, his sons Michael Yelinek and his wife Peggy of Scottsdale, AZ and Paul Yelinek and his wife Diane of Ludlow. His 3 granddaughters Lauren, Kara, and Paula.

Funeral services celebrating his life will be Monday October 29, 2007 family and friends gathering at 9 am at the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home 64 Sewall St. Ludlow followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial in Christ the King Church 41 Warsaw Avenue at 10 AM. Rites of committal with Military Honors will follow in Island Pond Cemetery.
