John Palmer Hogan, age 65, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully away on Sunday, November 25, 2012, in the presence of his family and loved ones.
Born May 12, 1947, in Detroit, MI, he was the son of late John and Kathryn Hogan. John is a veteran of the Vietnam War, where he proudly served in the U.S. Air Force. He met his beautiful bride, Rita F. Viens, while on reserve and they married in 1968 in Springfield, MA.
John enjoyed a successful career in regional manufacturing facilities, hold positions of Production Manager and Operations Manager until his retirement in 1998. He was a loving husband and proud father who enjoyed spending time with his family. He had a great sense of humor, and loved to make others smile. He was an inspiring baseball coach and a competitive billiards player, a proud man who inspired confidence in others.
John is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Rita F. Hogan; along with three sons and their families: John and Lisa Hogan, and their son Corey, of Ludlow, MA, Michael and Ashleigh Hogan of Ludlow, MA, and Robert and Samalid Hogan of Chicopee, MA. John was brother to five siblings: Chris and wife Kim Hogan of Bradenton, FL, Thomas and wife Mary of Ann Arbor, MI, Kathy and husband Scott Lippert of Dexter, MI, and Patricia and husband Brian King of Homerglen, IL, and longtime friends with JM and Sue Leutheaser. John was sadly predeceased by his parents and sister Mary Roberti of Madison, CT.

Funeral services celebrating his life will be Thursday, November 29, 2012, with family and friends gathering at 8:45 at the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home on 64 Sewall St., Ludlow, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial offered by the Catholic Community of Elizabeth in St. John the Baptist Church 181 Hubbard St. Ludlow at 10:00 AM Monsignor Homer P. Gosselin officiating. Rites of Committal with Military Honors we follow in Island Pond Cemetery in Ludlow.
