John M. LaMondia, 84, of Chicopee, passed away on Sunday, September 1, 2019. Born in Springfield on May 21, 1935, he was the son of the late Floyd and Sara (Monette) LaMondia. Educated in local schools, John retired from Titeflex Corp where he worked as a welder for many years. An avid fisherman, John loved days spent on the water.
John is survived by his two daughters Patricia Redmond and husband Clif and Cynthia Redmond, both of Springfield; his brother Floyd LaMondia of Enfield; his sisters Beverly Stalmann of South Hadley and Janice Campbell of Homosasa, FL. He also leaves his 5 beloved grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Charles LaMondia.
Funeral Services for John will be Friday, September 6, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home, 64 Sewall St., Ludlow, MA. Burial will follow in St. Aloysius Cemetery. Visiting hours will precede the service from 10:00-11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers donations in John’s memory may be made to the Sr. Caritas Cancer Center, 271 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01102.
