John Gaudreau, 58, of Springfield, passed away on Monday, March 10, 2025. Born in Holyoke on June 14, 1966 he was the son of Armand and the late Regina (Wood) Gaudreau. A graduate of Ludlow High School, John was a master carpenter, working for the Carpenters union and operating Gaudreau Construction for many years. He was a charter member of the Unity AC and had an adventurous spirit. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and golf. John had a contagious sense of humor that made the whole room laugh. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. He was a loving son, father, brother, grand-father, uncle and friend to many and a beautiful caring soul who will be missed by many.
In addition to his father, John is survived by his children Ashley Washington. Jacob Gaudreau, and Chantal Gaudreau; his siblings Denise Pooler, Brian Gaudreau, Lilyan Pollard, Andrea West, Veronica Gaudreau and Rosemary McKeever. He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren Raya and Yirmeyah, as well as many nieces and nephews and his dog Eva. Sadly, he was predeceased by his mother Regina Gaudreau and his brother Gregory Gaudreau.
Funeral services for John will be Monday, March 17, 2025 at 9:00 AM at the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home, 64 Sewall St., Ludlow, MA followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Elizabeth’s Parish, Hubbard St, Ludlow. Burial will be private, at the convenience of the family. Visiting hours at the funeral home will be Sunday, March 16, 2025 from 1:00-4:00 PM. John was such a nice guy and I was fortunate enough to work with him in the 80's and what stands out in my mind was how gifted he was in our trade at such a young age back then. He truly was a master carpenter with a big heart and he will be deeply missed. My heart and condolences go out to his family as well as everyone who knew him.
