Obituary

John F.(Fred) Shea, 74, of Ludlow passed away peacefully, Thursday, July 28, 2016 surrounded by his family. Son of the late Henry and Mary (Favreau) Shea, John was born in Holyoke on December 4, 1941. He was a graduate of St. Jerome High School.

John worked for many years as a mechanic for R. M. Sullivan Transportation. He was a devout and active communicant of St. Elizabeths Parish in Ludlow serving as a greeter. John was also a longtime participant in the parishs annual Meat Pie project. He enjoyed bowling and spending time with his family at the beach in Maine.

John is survived by his loving wife of thirty-nine years Beverly (Arduino) Shea of Ludlow; three sons John F. Shea Jr. of Lebonon, TN; Mark D. Shea of Carthage, TN and Joseph Hough of Southwick, MA and a daughter Barbara Hough of Ludlow and a brother Robert Shea of Holyoke. He also leaves his five beloved grandchildren Andrew, Heather, Jake, Nick and Sarah.

Johns family would like to thank the staff of Porchlight Home Care and Baystate VNA and Hospice for their wonderful care and compassion.

Funeral services for John will be held Friday, August 5, 2016 at 8:45 AM at the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home,64 Sewall St, Ludlow, MA followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Elizabeths Parish, Hubbard St, Ludlow, MA. Rites of Committal will follow in Island Pond Cemetery, Center St, Ludlow, MA.
