Jeanne M. "Pinky" Wood Zinn

Jeanne M. “Pinky” Wood  Zinn, 90, of Wilbraham, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 3, 2022.  Born in Ludlow on September 4, 1932, she was the daughter of the late George and Jeanne (Castonguay) Wood.  Educated in local schools, Jeanne worked as a bookkeeper for several local companies and was a secretary/receptionist for the Diocese of Springfield.  She was a communicant of St. Cecilia’s Parish in Wilbraham. Jeanne enjoyed reading and discussing books with her family.

Jeanne is survived by her son Paul Zinn (Heide Blackak); her daughters Sandra Gaylor (Vernal), Karen Dennis (Mark) and Christine Yacavone; her siblings Arthur and Rita Wood, Patricia Shastany, Jacqueline Wood and Corinne Winterberger.  She also leaves her 8 beloved grandchildren Mark, Aly, Amie, Thomas, Meghan, Andrew, Andrea and Nina; 12 great-grandchildren, a great-great grandson and many nieces and nephews.  Sadly, she was predeceased by her husband Elmer Zinn in 2002 and her daughter-in-law Laurie Zinn.

Visiting hours for Jeanne will be Thursday, December 15, 2022 from 8:30-10:00 AM at the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home, 64 Sewall St., Ludlow, MA followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in St. Cecilia’s Church, Main St., Wilbraham, MA. Family and friends are asked to meet directly at 1:00PM for burial at the Mass. Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery in Agawam.  Donations in Jeanne’s memory may be made to the Thomas J. O’Connor Animal Center, 627 Cottage St., Springfield, MA 01104, Shriners’ Hospital, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104 or the Friends of the Holyoke Soldiers’ Home, P.O. Box 1338, Holyoke, MA 01041.
