Jean V. Krawiec, 96, died on Sunday, January 3, 2021 at Baystate Wing Hospital. She was born in Ludlow to the late Joseph and Victoria Ryba on April 5, 1924. She leaves her daughter Charlene and was predeceased by her husband Edmond in January, 1997. They made a nice looking couple. Ed was a hard worker who did all kinds of work well and provided for his family. She was also predeceased by two sons, Robert in 1958 and Vernon in 1971. She was the youngest of her siblings, who have long passed.
Jean liked to work and be active. She had some nursing experience and several jobs, but her main occupation was working at Bradlees as a Sales Clerk, where customers complimented her on her measuring and cutting curtains, fabric, etc. She loved her school days, performed well and participated in school activities.
Jean was generous to people and volunteered to help at a nursing home. In particular, Jean enjoyed going to church when she was in better health and weather permitted, but even when she could not attend Mass, she was praying the rosary, being a firm believer in them and her prayers. Jean, Ed and Charlene liked day trips and she continued that process when she went on them and out to eat with her retirees club United Food and Commercial Workers Union, Local 1459.
