Obituary

Janice R. (Charpentier) Arsenault, 66, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 16, 2017, with her loving family by her side. Born in Woonsocket, RI on May 10, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Rene and Anita (Dussault) Charpentier.  She was resident of the greater Springfield area for 40 years.  Janice dedicated her life to teaching children, first in her home day care and later at The Kid’s Place and Immaculate Conception School before retiring from St. Mary’s Academy in Longmeadow.  She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth’s Parish in Ludlow.

 

Janice enjoyed spending time with her family and volunteering with her church community.

 

She leaves her husband of 44 years, Paul E. Arsenault of Indian Orchard; three daughters, Jennifer Howe (Todd) of Huntersville, NC; Beth Giddings (Dean) of Kannapolis, NC and Stacy Arsenault of Indian Orchard; and a son Keith Arsenault and his girlfriend Tierney VanderVoort of Cromwell, CT; her sister Paulette Jolicoeur (Lucien) of Glendale, RI and her brother, Paul Charpentier (Kathi) of Broomfield, CO. Janice also leaves her 5 beloved grandchildren Emily, Morgan, Brooke, Tyler and Molly as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation Information

Visiting hours at the funeral home will be Monday, February 20, 2017 from 4:00-7:00 PM.


Service Information

Funeral services celebrating Janice’s life will be held Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at 7:45 AM at the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home, 64 Sewall St., Ludlow, MA followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9:00 AM in St. Elizabeth’s Parish, Hubbard St., Ludlow, MA.


Cemetery Information

Burial will be Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at 1:30 PM in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Wrentham Road, Bellingham, MA.


Donation Information

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mary’s Academy, 56 Hopkins Place, Longmeadow, MA 01106.

She was such a caring person. She was gifted with more patience than most! I remember sleeping over & her getting up in the middle of the night to play play-doh with me when I couldn't sleep! I will miss her more than words can say. Love you all.
