James D. Ptaszkiewicz 65 of Center St. died Thursday February 10 in the comfort of his own home. Born in Springfield, MA September 15, 1945 son of the late Theodore & Jane (Burek) Ptaszkiewicz. Jim attended Christ the King Church, and had worked as a truck mechanic for many years for UPS Freight in Springfield.Jim was an avid New England Patriots Fan. He is survived by his wifeof over 44 years, Nancy (Robak) Ptaszkiewicz. His daughter Tammy Ptaszkiewicz and her companion Devon Sutherland. Sadly he was pre-deceased by his daughter Kim Ptaszkiewicz who died march 29, 2010. Cherished grandfather of Chrystal Ptaszkiewicz, Robert Belanger, Raechel Tedford, Alyssa Mack, and Jayce Mack. Also survived by siblings, Eugene Ptaszkiewicz, Mildred Metcalf, Joanne Melikian, Dorothy McQuire, Irene Zaranek, Sandy Moquin, Linda Banas, Elaine Murphy, and Sue Mitchell. He was pre-deceased by sisters Vera Dunn, Betty Soja, and bothers Thomas, Robert, and Kenneth Ptaszkiewicz. He is also survived and missed by his canine friend Sasha. Jim is also survived my many extended family members and friends, including the Sunday Morning Crew Ron, Johnny G., Sid, Big Mike, Tome & Kim. Thank-you to Patty and Donnie and friends from UPS. Jim’s family wishes to thank everyone who helped the last several months during Jim’s journey home, Dr. Rosen and Chrystal and those from the Infusion Dept, Lab and Front Desk at Springfield Medical Associates. Dr. Cartan, Dr. Gartman, Dr. Rossen, and Dr. McKay. Mercy Hospice for their compassionate care, and to oh so many others who helped in some way, you will never be forgotten.

Funeral Services celebrating his life will be Tuesday February 15 at 10 AM from the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home 64 Sewall St. Ludlow followed by an 11 AM Liturgy of Christian Burial in Christ the King Church 41 Warsaw Ave Ludlow. Rites of Committal will follow in Island Pond Cemetery.
