Jack R. Mead 63 of Ludlow died Tuesday November 1 in Baystate Medical Center. Born in Lewiston, ME October 1, 1948. Jack had owned and operated restaurants in Florida and Ludlow, and will long be remembered for his passion of cooking. Jack started his professional career with Turley Publications in 1975 at the bottom entry level, and worked his way to the top as Vice-President of Manufacturing, and being responsible for all areas of the company. Operating two plants, one in Palmer and one in West Springfield. Jack also served many civic clubs with great passion. He was a 30 year member of the Ludlow Lodge of Elks BPOE 2448. He held numerous positions and offices, having donated his time, talent and services to support the clubs mission including charity’s to the community. He was a 10 year member of the Knights of Columbus, and held numerous offices and positions. He was also a 10 year member of the Tiger Club of Chicopee. Jack was also involved with many printing organizations, related to his position at Turley Publications. He is survived by his wife Cheryl (DeSocio) Mead. A son Jack R. Mead Jr. of Florida, a daughter Barbara Nai of Enfield, CT 2 brothers David LeVeque and Ray Mead, and a sister Ruby. Also survived by several grandchildren and a great-granddaughter, extended family members and friends.

Funeral Services Celebrating Jacks life will be Saturday November 19 with family and friends gathering at 8:45 AM at the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home 64 Sewall St. Ludlow followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial offered by the Catholic Community of St. Elizabeth in St. John the Baptist Church 181 Hubbard St. Ludlow. Rites of committal in Island Pond Cemetery will be at a later date.

Shawna, So sorry to hear of the loss of your dad and the pain you must feel being so very far away.A dad will always be in your heart. I feel so bad they forgot to mention your name in the obit I cant imagine the hurt you must feel. Please remeber even if you dont see someone for a long time that love was and always will be there and that is something know one can take away between a father and daughter.
