Obituary

Helen C. (Chwalek) Perlak 85 of Prospect St. Ludlow died Monday, May 7, 2012, in Baystate Medical Center. Born in Ludlow, MA, March 25, 1927, daughter of the late John and Anna (Chrzan) Chwalek. Educated in local schools, she had worked as an office manager for Dr. George Franklin, and as a hygienist for Dr. Prowler and Franklin. She retired from the Town of Ludlow as Assistant Town Treasurer with many years of service. A faithful and active Communicant of Christ the King Church Helen was involved in many parish activities. She was a current and past president of the Daughter of Christ the King. Was a devoted member of the Perpetual Adoration Chapel. Was a past co-chair of the annual parish picnic, and was in charge of the straw booth. Helen was involved with fashion shows, church bake sales, and hat sale for the parish baseball team. She had recently received a Certificate of Appreciation from the Diocese of Springfield for 40 years of work with the Stewardship Appeal. She was also an active community volunteer for numerous charitable groups. Helen and her husband was the proud sponsors of 2 Chinese children, born in Taiwan. Helen is survived by her loving husband Edward G. Perlak, her children and their spouses, Edward J. Perlak and his wife Patricia of Dalton, MA, Frederick Perlak and his wife Marita of Kapolei, HI and Regina P. Egan and her husband Charles of Mansfield, MA, her brother Fr. John Chwalek of Winsor, MA. Devoted grandmother of Kimberley Perlak, of Austin, TX Elizabeth Perlak of New York City, Edward Ted Perlak and his wife Christine of Mahawa, NJ Daniel Perlak of Baltimore, MD, Anna McCarthy and her husband Patrick of West Layafette, IN Carolyn Egan of Sommerville, MA, and Matthew Egan of Mansfield, MA, Also survived by extended family members and friends.

Funeral services celebrating her life will be Saturday, May 12, 2012, at 9:45 AM from the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home 64 Sewall St. Ludlow
followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial in Christ the King Church 41 Warsaw Ave Ludlow, MA, at 11 AM. Rites of Committal will follow in St. Aloysius Cemetery.
