Obituary

Hedwig Hedy (Lis) Orchulek 92 of Ludlow died Thursday, April 19 at home. Born in Palmer, MA January 10, 1920, daughter of the late John P. and Mary (Kozlik) Lis. Educated in local schools had worked for many years as a waitress at Lis’s Cafe in Three Rivers Village of Palmer, and at the Halfway House. She was a Communicant of Christ the King Church. Hedy was the widow of Stanley A. Drake Orchulek who died November 18, 1985. She is survived by her sons, Richard Orchulek and his wife Susan of Ludlow and James Orchulek and his wife Sharon of Chicopee. One of ten children she is survived by brothers Frederick Lis of Palmer, Alphonse Herbie Lis of Ludlow and Henry Lis of Wilbraham. Her sister Helen Tootsie Swiatlowski of Three Rivers. Grandmother of 7, great-grandmother of 3, also survived by many extended family members and friends.

Funeral services celebrating her life will be Wednesday, April 25, 2012, at 8:45 AM from the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home 64 Sewall St. Ludlow followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial in Christ the King Church 41 Warsaw Ave. Ludlow at 10 AM. Rites of Committal will follow in Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery in the Bondsville Village of Palmer.
